With the original Demon's Souls being released back in , many have noticed some obvious differences from other entries in the Souls series. While those who have played the original have a better idea on what to expect, some are a bit out of their element with this entry that serves as a PS5 launch title.
Something that may confuse some players is the lack of any apparent save points. There are no bonfires that players can find like in the Dark Souls games, leaving some confused on how to properly save their games. New players to Demon's Souls don't need to worry, however, as there really isn't any kind of specific save point they're unable to find or any person to talk to.
In fact, players in Demon's Souls have the ability to save at any point in their adventure without needing anything special to do so. In order to save, players just need to pause their game and select quit. At that point, Demon's Souls will automatically save as they leave the game. This also means that players can't save scum in case they die and want to avoid being stuck in their Soul Form. It also lets players stop and pick up their game at any point they wish, while also being able to turn their console off.
Some modern fans of the franchise might be unhappy with the lack of save points or bonfires, but they should note that the original Demon's Souls was released two years before Dark Souls. With this remastering seemingly looking to remain loyal to the original game's design, the original features are mostly left intact without bringing over many newer features from later entries in the series. There is plenty for players to discover as they go through the challenges presented by Demon's Souls.

Boards Demon's Souls Copying my save?! Uh, use the PS3's backup utility? That's all I can say Yeah, can you? Does anybody know? I want to transfer my guy to another playstation 3. ChibiJosh 12 years ago 5. You can back it up using the backup utility, but you can't transfer it to a different PS3. HollowNinja 12 years ago 6. Demon's Souls has copy-protected saves. It's to prevent you from making a backup and reloading the backup when you die and lose a couple thousand souls.
People do it anyway.
