See below for full details. Although the campaign element of the game is turn-based, players can direct battles in real-time. Empire: Total War is the first game in the series to allow naval battles to be conducted in real-time.
In addition to the standard campaign mode, the game includes a special campaign that follows the development of the United States. Control the land, command the seas, forge a new nation, and conquer the globe. For the first time in the Total War series, you will be able to intuitively command single ships or vast fleets upon seascapes rich with extraordinary water and weather effects that play a huge role in your eventual glorious success or ignominious defeat.
Total War: Shogun 2. After pummelling your enemy with cannon fire, close in to grapple their ship and prepare to board, taking control of your men as they fight hand-to-hand on the decks of these wooden behemoths. Real-time battles will pose new challenges with the addition of cannon and musket, challenging players to master new formations and tactics as a result of the increasing role of gunpowder within warfare. And the Campaign Map, the heart of Total War introduces a variety of new and upgraded elements, including new systems for Trade.
Empire: Total War is focused on exploration, economics, politics, religion, the founding of colonies and, ultimately, conquest. The game is set in the early modern period, spanning from to the early 19th century, allowing players to lead a variety of contemporary factions to dominate Europe, North Africa, the Americas and the Indies.
The player will use both complex strategies on the campaign map as well as command military forces in battles on both land and sea. As with previous Total War games, Empire: Total War consists of two broad areas of gameplay: a turn-based campaign map that allows the user to move armies across the globe. Cancel X. Topic Archived. SilentHellz 8 years ago 1. The PC version did not have any cheats, in fact even the debug test version was cheat free. However to help our faithful Total War players we hid some save games in the game data. They are at the beginning of the full campaign but you start with a ton of cash. There are saves for most major countries included. Right click on the Application and select show package contents.
Within the Grand Campaign you have the option of playing as a whole host of countries, from the great powers of the time such as England, France and Spain to smaller and farther flung countries such as the Mughal empire in South Asia.
Each campaign has several options related to goals and length, but in general your job is to control a certain number of total territories by the end, with some specific areas you are also required to control.
To do this you will use your turns to build buildings, recruit and move armies and navies, research technology, send spies and ambassadors to other regions, and negotiate with allies and enemies to try and achieve your goals. All of these options should keep even the wonkiest turn-based strategy fan satisfied. Before battle begins you have several options. If you are attacking a city, you might have the option of besieging it instead of an all-out assault.
You might also have the option to withdraw before battle even begins; be warned though, if you do the enemy is likely to pursue you and from my experience do even more damage to a retreating army than if you stood and fought. Assuming you do the stand and fight thing, you will be taken to the battle map where you will have a chance to deploy your forces. During the turn-based component of the game you will be recruiting armies made up of a variety of historically accurate forces, from local militias to pikemen, to various types of artillery, cavalry and professional soldiers.
If you have him turned on, your military adviser will give you sometimes useful advice during this deployment phase. You need to pay attention to the situation you were marching into, terrain, buildings and more when deploying your forces. To take away some of the pain of not knowing where the enemy is during deployment, they rarely appear right on top of you, giving you some time to redeploy as necessary.
